Mark Klenk

| FACILITATOR AND COACH

Mark is a former Google Engineering Manager (2005-2019) with 20+ years of experience in the Tech Industry hiring, managing, and coaching software engineers and engineering managers in addition to individuals in adjacent disciplines such as product and program managers. At Google, he regularly organized and facilitated leadership and management training courses.

As a Regroup Coach and Facilitator, Mark helps engineering managers navigate the challenges of transition — from individual contributor to manager and from manager to manager-of-managers. During each transition, Mark’s mentorship and support helps managers develop new leadership skills like: shifting to new ways of operating, managing change and uncertainty, delegating and empowering your team, developing team cohesion and culture; and communication and listening.

In addition to facilitating manager development workshops and coaching current engineering managers with Regroup, Mark also helps prep engineering candidates interviewing for jobs at FAANG companies.

Mark earned his B.S. in Computer Science at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). With two adult children, he and his wife split their time between Boulder, Colorado and northern Washington. He enjoys coached swim workouts and singing in a Boulder-based a cappella group.
