Greg Hecht

Greg is a senior engineering leader with 25 years of experience bootstrapping, growing, and managing teams. He has worked at startups and large multinational companies including Google (2006-2015), TiVo, and SGI. He was also co-founder and CTO of Threadloom, a venture-backed startup in Silicon Valley, which was acquired by VerticalScope in 2021. He is currently a technical advisor for seed-stage investors and startups. His thoughtful leadership is informed by his work across a wide range of technologies, among them cloud infrastructure, search, analytics and growth, video-streaming, consumer electronics, and real-time communications.Greg’s passionate about building collaborative, high-functioning engineering teams. He works with existing leaders seeking to scale themselves and a growing team, and with new managers adapting to a change of role and expectations.

His areas of expertise include: developing product strategy and guiding a team through successful execution; planning and communicating clear roadmaps; making calm decisions amidst ambiguity and change; and identifying and developing strengths and skills among junior team members.

Greg holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan. He and his wife are avid travelers and he’s always game to sample a new bourbon or scotch. He is based in the Bay Area, CA.
